I felt the book filled in the missing details from the standard Microsoft training and certification guides for server 2016. It does not go into great detail, but at least covers a majority of the topics associated in studying for your MCSA Server 2016.
Great book, easy to read and understand. Concepts are well explained in a matter that is straightforward and easy to understand. It is a must have if you would like to understand Windows Server 2016 concepts from top down. I give it an A++++++.

A must for anybody tackling the implementation of a server with the latest version of the Windows OS
First. It's difficult to write a book such as this that everyone considers a 5-star book. The reader's prior knowledge of a topic and how a reader learns best are just two of the variables that make it impossible to please everyone. With that said, this book has and continues to help me better understand Windows Server 2016. Great job, Mr. Thomas! This one is a winner!
This book is written those that have some experience with Windows server, and are looking to get current with Server 2016. I like how it is written as at an Systems Admin level,building on what you already know about Windows Server. It is well designed to give you the realistic approach to implementing Windows Server 2016 in your environment. Whether it be on premise or in the cloud, there are plenty of examples on how to take advantage of the new features, using the GUI or Powershell. Also, this book has the Current Book Service, that keeps you up to date with any updates that are made to the book.
This is yet another thoroughly researched and thoughtfully produced text in Orin Thomas' corpus. "Windows Server 2016 Inside Out" Windows Server 2016 Inside Out (includes Current Book Service) should be mandatory reading for any experienced Microsoft systems administrator as it not only provides the latest principles and approaches in systems administration, but also establishes a contextual understanding of how the Windows Server platform is evolving in a constantly-changing IT ecosystem. Windows Server 2016 needs to be seen more than just extending your supported security life cycle to solutions that can meet the quickly-evolving demands of today.This reference is full of "light bulb" moments for the seasoned administrator and IT professional in the Microsoft space, of what Windows Server 2016 can provide as a solution. I see a number of organisations who still set it up as if it were Windows Server 2003, or running a full GUI OS for both their hypervisor and virtual machine just to run a few applications.With the "Current Book Service", it will be great to have a reference and updates to features as they evolve. For example, Nano Server, now a container base OS image as of Build 1709, would be one of the changes to the book surely. The content has already changed my approach in advising others as an instructor and IT professional on the benefits of getting THE most out of Windows Server 2016, and I highly recommend it to them as much as I will to you.
