I bought this book based on the author's reputation and experience. I'll save you 6+ hours of your time. Reduce sugar, increase vegetables, reduce meat, and incorporate an exercise program. Sound like anything you've heard before? Additionally, the first six chapters covers a genetic overview regarding diets that could be reduced to one chapter to save you the suspense. This book missed the mark and I see no innovative or new strategies presented. Eat your veggies, reduce sugar and meat, and work out. There you go.

This is dated. After reading his new book Plant Paradox, this book contains lots of conflicting information due to his more recent research. Good luck figuring out what to eat.

I saw Dr. Gundry for 1.5 years, and 3 office visits. I did not get better in his diet, but continued putting on weight and feeling even more exhausted. He kept on blaming me for doing something wrong. However, after doing food sensitivity tests with another Dr., it turns our that the eggs and shellfish were a huge problems, and the diet made me sicker. I had health issues with my digestive system that Dr. Gundry never diagnosed, and the diet would not have fixed it. Also , I really needed thyroid medication, and he also did not see that, and kept on sending me home, with "eggs should be ok." Too much time spend suffering and feeling judged by him without getting better. Not a good diagnostic doc, nor compassionate or a good listener or any good for diagnosing gastrointestinal issues. It's important to find what diet works for a patient, instead of blaming the patient when it doesn't work. Very disappointing.

I clicked on what apparently was some paid /sponsored 'health report' by this doctor appearing on the front page of Yahoo that headlines 'cut your cravings'. It is still playing in the background as I type this. This alleged Doctor is talking circles and circles and mentioning his famous clients (like Tony Robbins!) instead of just getting to the point of the article, which is the particular foods that are not good for you or impeding your weight loss goals. He'll tell us in just a minute. Wait, oh, let me talk about myself some more. This come-on vague sales pitch about how all the pearls of knowledge are just around the corner, he continues to talk about himself and show the same pics of himself over and over. His video is promising to share the secrets of a healthier diet without ever getting to it. This gets real old, real fast. The book is the same thing-- lots of filler without a lot of fact. The actual info he wants to share could fit on a page. I don't trust a source that has to be this cutesy and vague.

I have been using Dr. Gundry's products for the past six weeks. I have found some limited results, and I think am willing to keep trying with the products I have. I am giving this review three stars because of Dr. Gundry's marketing techniques. These techniques have raised red flags to the point that I wonder if this isn't a scam and he is a QUACK. When I have ordered the products, the web site keeps trying to get me to order more and more. Certainly, it does not seem professional. Yesterday was the final straw.. I received a telephone call with a caller ID that was a local number. It was someone from Gundry's group trying to sell me more product. Super red flags for me!

what a fool I was to buy this book. First, I watched a video where he said to never, ever eat any soy! Then in his book, soy recipes all over the place. What a fraud.

Just malarkey. I bought the book because in the video advertisement he tells you to avoid soy. I'm a vegetarian. I thought, "what else can I eat?". More than half the recipes contain soy. I guess the up side is I have a few more tofu recipes.

Be careful before implementing this diet, or buying his products. Watching his videos, I noticed that there seemed to be contradictions in what he was saying. What I also noticed, was that there was NO WAY to 'rewind' the video and watch the questionable section again without watching the whole long video (which also includes numerous sections tooting his own horn about how wonderful he is, tales of all the cheers and applause that he gets). Seems that maybe they don't want you to do this. So, I recorded his entire video. And watched it again, carefully listing all the questionable things. Then checked against what he later said, and what he has written in his books. You WILL find contradictions, which plainly make it clear that what he says in order to sell you his books and products, are probably just a lot of misinformation, AKA, LIES. So do your research FIRST. You might be able to implement some of his suggestions into your life, but there are simply too many red flags here. There is no way to list everything here. So you have to read his material, and listen to his videos, to learn the inherent problems in what he preaches. Simple examples? Look at his meal suggestions. He has recommended eating beans, peppers, and other things that he also strongly recommends REMOVING FROM YOUR DIET! JMHO. Do your own research. Don't believe the hype. Remember, if something seems too good, or easy to be true, it probably is.
