We are huge fans of DK Eyewitness guides, and love the Top 10 guides for cities. This one, like the others, gave us great insight into what to see in the three days that we were there. But there were several missing items for which it lost a star.1) No mention of the Hop-On Hop-Off Bus and Boat card. We used this a lot in our three days there;2) No mention of the Blue Card, which we used this to get into many many museums. palaces, etc.Boat and entrance Dotterningholm, City Hall including the Tour, Vasa Museum, Skansen (which btw, I think you need to be Swedish to really appreciate), and many other sites. It also includes entrance to Gronalund, Royal Palace, Millesgarden, and many other places that we will have to visit on our next visit.3) With a chapter on the archipelago, why not mention restaurants there, like on Fjaderholmarna?This book is good and was helpful, but the missing descriptions on those tourist card need to be addressed.
I love these books for traveling, they get to the point, allow me to plan my trips really well and are very accurate. I have been lucky that everywhere I have wanted to travel they have been available.
Another very good pocket travel guide book for Stockholm. This is one of the 2 guide books I will bring on my trip to Stockholm. Good Map.
Imagine getting a tour guide for Liverpool and there being any mention of the Beatles? I'd already checked out the city's own site and stumbled across the ABBA museum. Even if you weren't a fan, you'd know that smorgasbord, Volvo and ABBA were Sweden's biggest exports. Not even a whisper about the musical museum in this book? #1 attraction of such a fabled city seeped in history is a children's park?Seriously? Aside form the DK now infamous Sidney fiasco, with its blind alleys, wrong streets and false free passes at museums info,, this is the worst of this particular line.
Helpful guide for trips to Stockholm.
Seemed to be online with with most DK Travel Guides, with Not-To-Be-MIssed Keypoints, Significant Historical and Popular Toursit Haunts.
So very helpful for our trip
This is a great series of books we find very useful and traveling all over the world but especially if you just have a couple of days or less in any one destination
