I bought this book more then 3 years ago and still have not made myself finish it (I think I got a third to a half of the way through).This is a very large book, and either there is a lot in the message that I am not seeing or JP2 (and Mr West) spend a lot of words saying the same thing over and over again. You might get more out of this book if you have a quiet life and time to contemplate how the theories in this book will actually look when practiced out in real life. Despite thinking of myself as academically minded, I wish I had gotten one of Mr. Wests more "dumbed down" books on the subject. It is a really good message though.

This book is written at a college or graduate school level, and it amazingly reveals the intelligence, brilliance, and pure divine-seeking mind of Blessed John Paul II. I read it before seeing any videos or courses on the subject because I wanted to fully understand the logic of the teaching of Blessed John Paul II. Christopher West conveyed the theological subjects clearly, going point by point over John Paul II's thinking. This book literally changed the way I see the world, and my only regret is that this information was not available to me in my childhood to adolescent years in the 1980s. Thanks to Blessed John Paul II and Christopher West, the message is now being brought into the mainstream. It is an astounding response to the sexual revolution of the 1960s to 1980s.

This is an excellent commentary on TOB....Must read for all Roman Catholics who lives in today's culture!

This is another Christopher West clear exposition of Theology of the Body, moving well beyond the succinct "Theology of the Body for Beginners." I was titillated by the latter, and I am pleased to have moved into the more complete version now.
